Local Energy Efficiency Partnerships – Videos

Ecolighten is proud to be featured in BC’s Local Energy Efficiency Partnership (LEEP) videos from BC Housing.
The LEEP program is designed to reduce builder time and risk in finding and trying innovations for building higher performance homes better, faster and more affordably. The LEEP program was first developed Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and brought to British Columbia through collaboration between BC Housing, BC Hydro, FortisBC, the City of Vancouver and the City of New Westminster.
As part of the LEEP program, builders review building envelope products, gas and electric mechanical system options, and combinations of technologies, such as an integrated mechanical system that provide both space and water heating and heat recovery. From an initial list of about 40 technologies, the LEEP builder group choose 12 to investigate closely. The final products and materials are selected by builders for integration into a LEEP field trial home.
Ecolighten supported RDC Fine Homes with their field trial home in Squamish. Ecolighten’s support included load calculations and mechanical HVAC consulting through our Home Performance Design service offering to ensure right-sized mechanical systems were selected for the project. The Squamish home from RDC Fine Homes achieved BC Energy Step Code for Part 9 Step 3.
