Fall 2016 – Builder & Designer Breakfast

As part of Ecolighten’s Energy Services work with the City of New Westminster and Energy Save New West, we’re pleased to announce details for the Fall 2016 – Builder & Designer Event planned for Thursday, November 17th at the Anvil Centre from 7:30AM to 9:30AM.
This event is designed specifically for local builders, architects and designers to learn about upcoming program and policy initiatives designed to support energy-efficient new construction for Part 9 buildings in the City of New Westminster. The workshop will include a fully catered breakfast, sponsored by BC Hydro and FortisBC.
The session features:
- Hear about the proposed new Energy Step Code from the Province of BC that will enable municipalities to adopt a consistent approach for energy performance standards beyond base building code.
- Get an overview of Natural Resources Canada’s “ENERGY STAR® for New Homes” standard along with a local case study showing how builders can construct energy-efficient homes to this standard using smart, cost-effective approaches.
- Learn about Rateourhome.ca an exciting new voluntary energy label disclosure initiative for Metro Vancouver that aims to increase awareness of energy efficient homes in the region through consumer awareness and demand for EnerGuide home energy labels.
Seating for this workshop is limited, so you need to reserve your spot through RSVP quickly. Note that homebuilders attending are eligible to earn continuing professional development credits from Homeowner Protection Office under the Enhanced Licensing System for BC Home Builders.
If you’re interested in attending, please contact us through energysavenewwest.ca or call 604.515.3818 to reserve a seat (space is limited).
