Ecolighten & FortisBC – Quality Installation for Furnaces Study

Posted by Ryan ColemanJanuary 01, 2014

On Thursday, February 20th, 2014, Ecolighten will be presenting the results of the “Quality Installation Study for Furnaces” that we completed in collaboration with FortisBC and other industry stakeholders.

During this past summer, FortisBC commissioned Ecolighten to conduct a study to review the installations (and ultimately performance) of a random sample of furnaces installed during their 2012 Furnace Replacement Pilot Program.

Ecolighten will report our findings based on evaluations of fifty (50) furnace installs across the province.  Using TECA’s Quality First™ written guidelines, the furnace installations were inspected on fourteen (14) visual points including, radius elbows, turning vanes, two pipe venting, matching thermostats, type of filters and also assessed on six (6) empirical measurements including external static pressure, temperature rise and combustion analyzing.

Don’t miss this interactive session where you can share how you “install” and offer your point of view on measures the HVAC industry can take to continue to improve the quality of furnace installations in the coming years.  Event details are
