Ecolighten is proud to be featured in the September / October edition of Mechanical Business magazine with an article titled “Maximizing Furnace Performance“.

Based on Ecolighten’s Quality Installation Study for Furnaces that was commissioned by FortisBC, “Maximizing Furnace Performance” provides a top ten list of system and design considerations for contractors when installing a high-efficiency furnace.

Given that properly sizing HVAC equipment and installing these units to industry-recognized procedures is critical to ensuring top-notch performance, “Maximizing Furnace Performance” is a step-by-step outline to help contractors optimize the energy efficiency, while delivering comfort and maximizing equipment longevity.  Key highlights of the article include:

  • Guidance on Pre-Changeout Steps with visual and diagnostic testing including load calculations and external static pressure testing to understand existing conditions of the home.
  • Recommendations on critical Installation Components including venting, controls, filtration and ductwork adjustments to maximize system performance.
  • A summary Commissioning Checks and tests to verify and document that the engineered performance of the furnace has been achieved.
